CM Capital hires ex-Kaiser Foundation CFO

Bruce Madding will become president and chief investment officer of the California-based advisory firm.

CM Capital Corporation (CMC) has hired Bruce Madding, former chief financial officer of the Henry J Kaiser Family Foundation, as president and chief investment officer. The Palo Alto, California-based firm invests in leveraged buyouts, venture capital, hedge funds and real estate.

Before joining CMC, Madding spent 22 years at the Kaiser Family Foundation, prior to which he was a managing director and senior audit manager at Price Waterhouse & Company. .

Madding has been a member and chair of the American Red Cross investment committee, an investment committee member of the University of California-Berkeley Foundation and chair of the Foundation Financial Officer’s Group. He is currently a member of the investment committee for the M Funds, part of Portland, Oregon-based financial services firm M Financial.

CMC was founded in 1969 to advise the Hong Kong-based Cha family to make investments in the US. The corporation – together with its affiliates and subsidiaries – provides investment advice on portfolios now worth more than $1 billion. CMC also operates a private charitable foundation, the CM Capital Foundation.
