Internet technology firm secures second round funding.

EDevice, a Franco-American startup, that develops embedded technology for connecting non-PC equipment and appliances to the Internet, has secured E13m second round funding from a consortium of investors including ABN Amro and 3i, which invested E6.7m. VCs Compagnie Financière Edmond de Rothschild and the Vertex Technology Fund, which invested for the second time having injected E3.7m first time round.

The company develops technology that connects Internet-enabled devices through telephone lines, GSM or Ethernet networks. This type of technology enables hardware manufacturers to offer consumers cheap Internet access through a range of products.
