DrKW poaches Kershaw from UBS Warburg

After 12 years at UBS Warburg, Michael Kershaw is moving on to pastures new as European head of financial sponsors.

Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein has named Michael Kershaw its new head of financial sponsors, Europe.

Kershaw’s role is a new one. He will focus on the delivery of M&A advice to the private equity and the financial sponsor community across various industry sectors and will report to co-heads of sector groups, Manjit Boual and Robert Pruzan. He will work closely with colleagues in equity capital markets and global debt origination to provide DrKW’s products including high yield, acquisition finance, hedging and equity raising.

Kershaw will join DrKW at the end of June 2001 from UBS Warburg where his most recent post was managing director of the financial sponsors group for Europe. He has spent the last 12 years at UBS Warburg, both in SBC Warburg and SBC, originally as a member of its M&A group.

Manjit Boual said that this was an exciting hire for the company. “It recognises the growing importance of the financial sponsor community in the M&A and financing arena and our commitment to this constituency. Michael’s substantial experience will be an asset to DrKW, he added.
