Eaton bulks up London office

The advisory firm will add three professionals to its team in the next six months.

Advisory firm Eaton Partners is hiring three executives in its London office, two of whom are joining from other placement or advisory firms and one who is joining from a general partner, a source with knowledge of the firm told Private Equity International.

Two of the hires will join the firm’s 20-strong project management team, while the other will join its sales team, the source said. The three recruits are working out notice periods and gardening leave and all will be in position within the next six months.

In September the firm hired Gianluca D’Angelo, formerly a partner at Probitas Partners and briefly at Quest Fund Placement in the UK, to lead its Europe offering from its London office. There are six executives, including D’Angelo, listed in the London office.

The firm is one of the early pioneers of fund placement. It was founded in 1983 by Charles Eaton, who remains at the business as a partner. The firm has more than 60 employees across seven offices, according to its website, and in January 2016 it was acquired by financial holding company Stifel.

In the last 12 months Eaton has helped close funds for food and agribusiness-focused firms Hosen Capital and Amerra and healthcare specialist Essex Woodlands.

Eaton was recognised in PEI’s annual awards in early March in the categories of ‘Placement agent of the year in Asia’ and ‘Secondaries advisor of the year in Asia’.

Eaton declined to comment on the hires.
