UK-based mid-market private equity firm ECI Partners has promoted Caroline Dent to partner, effective 1 July, according to a statement from the firm.
Dent, who first worked at ECI as a secondee from KPMG and joined the firm officially in 2009, is a member of the ECI commercial team, the firm’s in-house operations team.
The four-strong commercial team works with ECI portfolio companies from the due diligence phase through to exit, addressing growth initiatives. The team works across the ECI portfolio providing execution support, working with boards to prioritise value creation initiatives and projects to drive long-term capital value.
Dent’s current investments include MPM, Reed & Mackay, Rhubarb, Great Rail Journeys, Encore and Investis. Her past investments include CarTrawler, which the firm sold to BC Partners in 2014 in a £300 million deal generating a 6x return, and Fourth, which was sold to Insight Venture Partners in 2015.
ECI is currently investing from its £500 million tenth fund, which closed on its hard-cap in September 2014 after just five months in market. Among its LP base are Villanova University, California State Teachers’ Retirement System, Capital Dynamics, Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund, and the British Airways Pension Scheme, according to PEI Research & Analytics.
Investments in ECI 10 include salary sacrifice car scheme provider Tusker, specialist cycling retailer Evans, and pet food retailer MPM.
