Alfred McAlpine, a London-listed support services business, is buying Enviros from ECI Partners, a London-based private equity firm, for £30 million (€45.4 million).
Chris Watt, director at ECI, said: “Following the introduction of an outstanding management team, the financial performance of the business improved substantially to become one of the sector’s leading players. This exit is the sixth from out 2000 vintage fund, and it cements the exceptional returns achieved by that fund for its investors.”
ECI backed the £17 million (€25.8 million) management buyout of Enviros in 2001. Since then, the business has been expanded into the largest independent environmental consultancy group in the UK.
The private equity firm is currently investing from its eighth fund.
Founded in 1995, Enviros helps organisations achieve a competitive advantage through improved environmental and social performance.
