Edmond de Rothschild Capital Partners, the fund management arm of French investment bank La Compagnie Financière Edmond de Rothschild (LCFR), has made four new hires.
Sylvie Verges joins the firm as CFO, from Neuf Telecom. She began her career as an auditor at PricewaterhouseCoopers and has also worked for automotive equipment supplier Valeo and Cofratel, an arm of France Telecom.
Newly appointed investment manager Hervé Fonta joins from Chequers Capital, the Paris-based private equity firm that grew out of the French buyout team at Charterhouse SA.
Bertrand Demesse joins the firm as an associate from advisory investment bank Banque Lazard.
Edmond de Rothschild Capital Partners manages the Edmond de Rothschild LBO Fund, which held a €210 million final close last October. The fund invests in French mid-market buyouts, and has taken a majority stake in four French companies including childrenswear retailer Bonpoint and publisher H3S Group.
Earlier this week it was reported that LCFR has launched a second venture capital fund. The bank’s VC arm has already raised €76 million for the biotechnology focused BioDiscovery II and hopes to raise a total of €120 million by the end of the year.
In separate recruitment news, Nordic venture capital firm Nexit Ventures has appointed two new partners. Michael Mandahl, a former venture partner at Sweden’s BrainHeart Capital, joins the firm in its Helsinki office, while Patrice Peyret, co-founder of US-based mobile phone service company Mobile365 Inc, joins the Saratoga, California office.
