Enlightenment Capital raises $250m

The Chevy Chase-based investment firm has closed its third flagship fund.

Enlightenment Capital has held a final close of Enlightenment Capital Solutions Fund III at its $250 million hard cap, surpassing the $200 million it had been targeting. The fund will invest in middle-market companies focused in the Aerospace and Defense & Government sectors.

The fund’s predecessor vehicle, Enlightenment Capital Solutions Fund II also exceeded its target, having raised $147 million in October 2016. Overbrook Foundation was a limited partner in Fund II.

Metric Point Capital served as placement agent for the latest fundraise, while Hogan Lovells served a legal counsel.
