HarbourVest Partners raises $1.7bn

The Boston, Massachusetts-based global private markets specialist closes latest flagship fund of funds above target.

HarbourVest International Private Equity Partners VIII has held a final close at $1.7 billion, beating its original target of $1 billion. The oversubscribed vehicle makes primary fund investments as well as secondaries investments and co-investments in Europe, Asia and emerging markets.

HarbourVest International Private Equity Partners VII previously held a final close at $1.5 billion in August 2015.
