Koenig moves into RBS' European sponsor role

Jochen Koenig is filling the slot vacated by John Hourican, who is now part of the team managing RBS' latest acquisition, the Dutch bank ABN Amro.

Jochen Koenig has taken over as Royal Bank of Scotland’s head of leveraged finance in Europe and Asia Pacific replacing John Hourican, who after two years in the role had moved to become chief financial officer of ABN Amro.

RBS acquired the Dutch bank last year.

Koenig joined RBS as a founding member of the Frankfurt leveraged finance team in 1998. As a director, he was one of the key members of the team with particular responsibility for overseeing the structuring of large and mid-market LBO transactions in Germany, Switzerland and Scandinavia.
