The New York firm has raised capital for its ninth buyout fund.

Kohlberg & Company has closed its Fund IX at $3.4 billion. The buyout fund will follow its predecessors’ strategy of investing into North America across diversified sectors.

Kohlberg Investors IX received commitments from several institutional investors, which include Teachers’ Retirement System of Louisiana, Teacher Retirement System of Texas, School Employees’ Retirement System of Ohio, Santa Barbara County Employees’ Retirement System, El Paso Firemen & Policemen’s Pension Fund, State of Wisconsin Investment Board and Investment Management Corporation of Ontario.
