L Catterton raises $2. 8bn

L Catterton has raised $2.8 billion for its L Catterton VIII. The Greenwich-headquartered firm began fundraising in 2016 with a $2.5 billion target.

Its previous fund raised $1.7 billion in 2013.

Investors that committed to L Catterton VIII include the Pennsylvania Public School Employees' Retirement System and the Missouri Local Government Employees' Retirement System.

The fund will target buyout opportunities in middle market consumer companies sectors in North America and Europe.
