Moelis & Company has hired former CCMP Capital Advisors principal Stephan Oppenheimer as a partner.
At CCMP, Oppenheimer worked in the media and telecom, services and industrial sectors. Last June CCMP laid off Oppenheimer and three others in order to add more operationally focussed executives.
Before joining CCMP, Oppenheimer was an investment banker at Chase Securities. Prior to that he was a systems consultant at American Management Systems and System Planning Corporation.
Moelis & Co, founded last July by former UBS investment banking head Ken Moelis, has made a series of high profile hires in recent months, including former Cerberus Capital Management managing director Kurt Larson and former Credit Suisse managing director David Faris.
The firm has not yet announced any deals, but held a first close on its first fund on $1.8 billion last September. Moelis & Co. will primarily make co-investments alongside other firms.
