Palamon expands advisory team

The European mid-market private equity firm has appointed a veteran human resources development consultant.

Richard Wolman has become the 13th member of Palamon Capital Partners’s board of advisors.

Wolman specializes in management development frameworks for entrepreneurial businesses. He has worked with Palamon on internal development strategies and the evaluation of portfolio company management since 2008. His focus is on high performance knowledge businesses, namely investment firms, trading houses and management consultancies.

Wolman's appointment to Palamon's advisory board follows that of Peter Currie, media and technology veteran, and Italian business leader Lorenzo Pellicioli in 2008. Earlier this year the firm hired two vice-presidents to its investment team.

In March, Palamon and French healthcare specialist G Square invested in Grupo SAR, a Spanish healthcare service provider. A source said the transaction valued the business at more than €200 million.

Palamon is currently investing its second fund, which closed on €670 million in 2006. Founded in 1999, the London-based firm invests across Europe, targeting the media and communications, financial services, leisure and healthcare sectors.
