Palamon hires leverage expert

Anthony Gardner, an experienced debt banker, is joining Palamon Capital Partners from Bank of America as banks become increasingly risk averse.

Palamon Capital Partners, a European mid-market private equity firm, has strengthened its team with two appointments.  Anthony Gardner joins as director of structured finance and Alexis de Dietrich joins as a vice president.

Anthony Gardner joins Palamon from Bank of America, where he was executive director of its European leveraged finance unit.  Previously he spent five years with GE, initially in business development managing M&A transactions involving GE companies across Europe and subsequently in its leveraged finance group. 

Gardner has also practised as a lawyer for eight years in Paris, London and Brussels. 

Alexis de Dietrich joins Palamon having most recently run a family investment office in Switzerland.  He was previously with Merrill Lynch International in London working in the global markets and investment banking divisions and before with Société Générale corporate and investment banking in Milan.

Palamon’s most recent investments were in German retailer, Dress-for-Less, Europe’s largest online designer fashion outlet and the Dutch company, D&D Media Group, a European audiovisual producers.
