PolyTechnos Venture Partners, a German venture capital firm, has promoted Christian Schneider to managing partner.
Schneider joined PolyTechnos Venture Partners in 2001 as investment director, before being promoted to partner in July 2002.
Before joining PolyTechnos Venture Partners, Schneider worked at Centocor, a biotechnology subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, in external R&D management, business development, diagnostic biotechnology R&D and technology transfer.
At Centocor, Schneider specialised in oncology, immunology and cardiology product development.
Schneider has managed three initial public offerings while at PolyTechnos Venture Partners, including OncoMethylome Sciences, a Belgian diagnostics business which went public on the Euronext stock exchanges of Brussels and Amsterdam in June.
The other two portfolio companies to float were Devgen and Jerini in June 2005 and November 2005 respectively.
