GAGEN GETS THE BLUES

The former head of 3i's private equity activities in the US will not be idle for long, according to a report in London's Evening Standard newspaper. Although Martin Gagen has been linked with a new role in the academic world, his short-term ambitions appear to involve less stuffy ambitions: he is trying to become a rock star.

Having reportedly bought an Eric Clapton Stratocaster, Gagen is taking blues guitar lessons from the legendary John Garcia. And he seems to aiming high: Gagen confided that he could “probably make more money” out of guitar playing than he could from venture capital.
