Quadrangle Group promotes eight

In the wake of the departure of co-founder David Tanner, the New York media and communications investment firm has promoted Jeffrey Nordhaus to managing principal.

Quadrangle Group has promoted eight professionals: one to managing principal, three to principal and four to vice president.

Jeffrey Nordhaus was named managing principal, the firm’s 11th. Prior to joining Quadrangle in 2001, he was a vice president in the communications, media and entertainment group of Goldman Sachs.

Nordhaus’ promotion comes in the wake of the departure of one of the firm’s founding partners, David Tanner, who informed contacts of his leaving the firm to focus on not-for-profit activities and to work as executive vice president at ContiInvestments, the investment arm of ContiGroup, an agribusiness company.

Co-founders Steven Rattner, Peter Ezersky and Joshua Steiner all were media and communications investment bankers at Lazard. Tanner was previously head of Lazard Capital Partners. Tanner became senior advisor to Quadrangle in 2006, a position which he no longer holds, according to the firm’s website.

David Crosby, Andrew Frey and Henry Ormond were promoted to principal, while Stacey Harris, Amanda Siegel and Chun Won Yi were promoted to vice president. Mike Gillin was promoted to vice president, fund operations.

With the exception of Harris and Yi, who focus on distressed debt, all promotions were made in the firm’s private equity group, which focus on media and communications.
