Ratos in seventh deal this month

Ratos will buy two family-owned chair manufacturers, for an undisclosed amount, in its seventh transaction this month.

Ratos, a listed private equity company, will buy office chair manufacturers RH Form and RBM from the companies’ founders, for an undisclosed amount.  Ratos’ combined investment in both companies is almost SEK 190 million (€21 million; $28 million), which does not include debt.

The two companies, which were previously family-owned business, have approximate combined sales of more than SEK 600 million in 2006.  They supply chairs to other Nordic countries, the UK and the Netherlands.

Mannheimer & Swartling, a Swedish firm, and Plesner, a Danish firm, advised Ratos.

Ratos has made three other deals this month.  Last week it bought two window manufacturers, Lyssand Treindustrier and Frekhaug Vinduet, for an undisclosed sum.

Ratos is a listed private equity company and currently holds investments of about SEK 9 billion.
