Former Liberty Mutual Investment Advisors senior managing director Jeffery Moy has joined Rockefeller Financial as the head of private equity, effective 1 August.
Moy will be responsible for overseeing Rockefeller’s private equity and venture capital operations, including the selection of third-party managers and new business development. Rockefeller’s alternatives division Rockefeller Capital Partners does not run proprietary private equity funds but operates fund of fund vehicles for both private equity and hedge funds and advises clients on investments in both asset classes.
Moy said in a statement he plans to develop appropriate asset allocations and private equity portfolios for the firm. At Liberty Mutual, where he spent 16 years, Moy was responsible for venture capital, growth capital, leveraged buyout partnerships, emerging market funds, private equity secondaries and co-investments.
In June, Rockefeller hired John O’Hara as a managing director and senior advisor. O’Hara was previously the chief operating officer of Franklin Street Partners, an independent wealth management firm based in North Carolina.
Rockefeller Financial has $30 billion under administration across its four business groups: Rockefeller Capital Partners, Rockefeller Asset Management, Rockefeller Wealth Advisors and Rockit Solutions, a proprietary information management technology platform. The firm provides services for individuals, families, trusts, foundations and other institutional clients.
