SEB expands Frankfurt office

The Swedish group’s acquisition finance division has hired two executives to focus in mid-market deals in Germany

SEB Merchant Banking, a part of Swedish financial services group, has expanded with two new appointments to its acquisition finance and mezzanine team in Frankfurt.

The unit has hired Andrea Szekelyi and Mårten Sennerup, taking the total number in the Frankfurt office to three – Alexandre Godard joined earlier in the year, having left BNP.

Szekelyi joins from Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein, where she spent more than five years working in the acquisition finance unit for financial sponsors. Sennerup transfers from SEB Merchant Banking in Stockholm, where for two years he worked in the acquisition finance unit.

The acquisition finance and mezzanine team is focused on the middle market, with deals between €15m and €150m.

Simon Wakefield, global head of acquisition finance at SEB Merchant Banking, said the team was now complete and that there would not be any more appointments in the near future.
