SJ Berwin expands Munich office

The European law firm has poached three to strengthen its German private equity and M&A effort.

SJ Berwin, the European private equity and M&A law firm, has recruited three new partners to join its Munich practice.

Thomas Pauls and Axel Pajunk join SJ Berwin Knopf Tulloch Steininger’s private equity and buyout team from Haarmann Hemmelrath & Partner.

Alexander Rinne, an EU and competition law specialist, comes in from Bender Zahn Tigges. He will lead the development in Germany of the firm’s practice in this area of law, which it has already established in London, Brussels and Madrid.

Commenting on the appointments, Dr Uwe Steininger said: “Within seven months, the Munich office will have grown from five to fifteen private equity buyout, venture capital investment and private equity fund lawyers by mid-2001. There is no sign of any slowdown of this growth.”
