Sovereign adds three new partners

The UK mid-market operator has promoted three of its directors to partner. The growing firm has also hired five new professionals this year.

Sovereign Capital, the UK buy-and-build specialist, has promoted three of its directors, Dominic Dalli, David Myers and Kevin Whittle, to partner.

Dominic Dalli has been with the firm since 2002 and has focused on Sovereign’s healthcare investments including SENAD, TRACSCARE, Alkare and Cascade Care.

David Myers, who joined Sovereign in 1997, leads the firm’s direct origination team.

Kevin Whittle heads up Sovereign’s portfolio development team and has been involved in the firm’s exits from SENAD, CMGL, CVS and Alpha Plus.

The promotions come on the back of five hires to Sovereign this year across the areas of direct origination, portfolio development and investor relations. Most recently Sovereign hired Sarah Pratt as a researcher from Citigroup Global Markets.

Sovereign Capital has £450 million (€563 million; $791 million) under management and typically makes investments of between £5 million and £20 million. In August the firm committed £20 million to Renovo Services Group, a new platform created to consolidate companies who provide maintenance services to social housing landlords in the South of England and Wales.
