SVG Advisers, the fund management and advisory business, has appointed Owen James to its London headquarters as well as Michael Nugent and Michael Roth to its Boston office.
The trio join the firm’s private equity fund selection team which conducts analysis and due diligence into investment opportunities in Europe and the US. The team, which now has 12 professionals in total, manages and advises seven diversified fund of funds with an investment capacity of €3.7 billion ($5.2 billion).
James joins SVG from HBOS where he spent two years in leveraged finance working on the origination and execution of UK mid-market private equity deals. Nugent joins from LP Capital Advisors, an adviser to institutional investors in alternative assets, having also worked for State Street Bank and HarbourVest Partners. Roth is an economics graduate who spent an internship at Mutual of America Capital Management.
Funds managed or advised by SVG include the SVG Diamond Programme, a series of collateralised fund obligations (CFO) of private equity funds, and the Schroder Private Equity Fund of Funds Programme (SPEFOF).
The SPEFOF IV fund posted a first close in June this year on €200 million and is expecting a final close at the end of the first quarter of 2008.
