Truell to head up BVCA

Duke Street's chief executive is to take over from Friends' David Thorpe.

The British Venture Capital Association (BVCA) has appointed Edmund Truell, chief executive of Duke Street Capital, as new chairman.

Having previously served as chairman of the association's investor relations committee, Truell will take over from David Thorpe, who is managing director of Friends Ivory & Sime Private Equity. Truell will be in charge of the BVCA until June 2002.

The new chairman of the investor relations committee is Michael Queen, finance director at venture capital group 3i.
