US-German Earlybird signs up new partner

Stephen J Ciesinski will head the company’s technology and communications practice in Palo Alto.

US-German venture capital firm Earlybird has appointed a new partner to its technology and communications practice in Palo Alto. Stephen J Ciesinski becomes the sixth partner in the firm.

Ciesinski is also an advisor to a number of Silicon Valley-based private equity companies. He was previously president and CEO of Resumix, a supplier of technology-based applications for e-recruiting and human skills management.

Dr Vera Kallmeyer, an Earlybird partner, said: “All of our partners previously have worked as successful entrepreneurs and management consultants in various industries. We know from our own experience that today’s entrepreneurs need comprehensive support – adequate capital, a network of relevant contacts, practical advice and know-how, and access to top-notch talent. Steve’s skills and background are a great match for our needs in the Silicon Valley technology and communications sectors.”

Ciesinski said: “I’m really looking forward to capitalising on Earlybird’s positioning among VC firms.”

Earlybird’s German offices are in Hamburg and Munich and it has US offices in Palo Alto, California.
