VCs see ticketless future with Digitick(3)

Online and electronic ticketing business Digitick has secured second-round funding of €8 million from four venture firms as it looks to expand the market.

Venture firms Partech International, CM-CIC Capital Privé, CIC Finance and High Co Venture have participated in a second-round funding of Digitick, an internet- and mobile phone-enabled electronic ticketing business.

It closed the round on €8 million, taking its total funding to €10 million. Digitick said the additional funds will enable it to accelerate the development of its business, support its marketing efforts and increase its European activity.

Founded in 2004, Digitick is an internet and mobile phone ticket service provider offering a portfolio of concerts, festivals, expositions, and sporting events throughout the year.  It has more than 350 partnerships with concert halls, theatres, festivals, concert organisers, athletic clubs, museums and amusement parks. In 2007 it managed ticketing and control of entry to over 5,000 events.

Jean-Marc Patouillaud, general partner at Partech international, said: “In Partech’s opinion, Digitick is the answer to the next trend in consumer entertainment needs: the e-ticket, or the ability to purchase tickets where I want it, when I want it.”

Digitick was advised on this transaction by Clipperton Finance, a consulting company in finance and strategy in the high tech and media sectors.
