Vision hires debt advisory veteran Cortas

The firm has named former executive director and co-founder of Blenheim Advisors Samer Cortas as a principal in London.

Vision Capital has named Samer Cortas as a principal in the firm’s London office. 

Cortas previously worked in the debt advisory and financial restructuring group at Houlihan Lokey, prior to which he was an executive director and founding member of debt advisory firm Blenheim Advisors. Before joining Blenheim, he worked on the leveraged finance team at CIBC World Markets in both London and New York.

Terphane, a manufacturer of polyester films. The investment of undisclosed size came from Vision’s seventh fund, which closed in January 2009 on €680 million, almost twice the size of its 2006 predecessor.

London-based Vision specialises in buying portfolios of companies from conglomerates, financial institutions and private equity firms. Vision’s investment mandate includes debt and equity investments – both influence and control positions – with a transaction size ranging between €50 million and €1 billion.

The firm has a multi-sector approach, and specialises in financials and real estate, industrials and manufacturing and business services and consumer.
