Warburg Pincus raises $4.25bn

Warburg Pincus closes its second Southeast Asia fund, exceeding its $3.5 billion target.

Warburg Pincus held a final close of Warbug Pincus China-SEA II at $4.25 billion, exceeding its target of $3.5 billion.

The group of investors includes insurance companies, public and private pension funds, sovereign wealth funds, endowments, foundations, fund of funds, family offices and high net worth individuals. The investment focus will be across consumer and services, healthcare, real estate, financial services, and technology, media, and telecommunications.

The firm manages over $62 billion in private equity assets, and it has invested more than $11 billion in over 120 companies across China and Southeast Asia.
