ATRS confirms $210m in commitments

The US pension has backed six private equity funds.

Arkansas Teacher Retirement System has confirmed $210 million-worth of commitments to six private equity funds, according to materials from the pension’s September 2021 board meeting.

The commitments comprised of $40 million to Almanac Realty Securities IX, $50 million to Chatham Asset Private Debt & Strategic Capital Fund III and $30 million to Clearlake Capital Partners VII. ATRS also committed $30 million each to Franklin Park’s Venture Fund XIV and Corporate Finance Access Fund II.

In January 2021, ATRS’s made a $30 million to Alpine Investors VIII, a North American-focused buyouts fund. In their September 2021 meeting, they confirmed an additional commitment of $30 million to Alpine’s buyout fund, making the total commitment to date $60 million.

The $21.2 billion US public pension has a 12.6 percent current allocation to private equity and as illustrated below, tends to target North America-focused vehicles pursuing a variety of sectors.
