Baltimore Fire and Police increases PE target for 2020

The US public pension has boosted its target allocation to the asset class by one percent.

Baltimore City Fire and Police Employees’ Retirement System has boosted its private equity target allocation from 10.0 to 11.0 percent for calendar year 2020, according to the pension’s January 2020 board meeting minutes.

The $2.89 billion US public pension currently allocates 8.50 percent of its portfolio to private equity investments.

As illustrated below, Baltimore Fire and Police has made seven commitments to private equity funds with a 2018 or 2019 vintage, which combined constitute $95 million.
