Baltimore Fire and Police approves $30m in PE commitments

The US public pension has backed two private equity funds.

Baltimore City Fire and Police Employees’ Retirement System has agreed to commit $15 million each to Brookfield Capital Partners V and Greenspring Opportunities Fund VI, a contact at the pension informed Private Equity International.

The $2.75 billion US public pension has a 10.0 percent target allocation to private equity that currently stands at 8.0 percent.

As illustrated below, Baltimore Fire and Police has made seven commitments to private equity funds with a 2018 or 2019 vintage, which combined constitute $95 million.
