British Patient Capital approves $20m commitment

The UK government-backed investor has committed to a technology focused venture capital fund.

British Patient Capital, a subsidiary of British Business Bank, has committed $20 million to Balderton Capital VIII, according to a press release from the firm. Fund VIII has closed on $600 million and will invest into early-stage companies in the TMT sector across Western Europe.

This represents the fourth commitment made to Balderton managed funds. The subsidary invested in Balderton Capital VI and Balderton Capital VII as well as Balderton Capital Growth I.
