Switzerland's Constellation Capital has appointed Dieter Scheiff, an industry veteran, as one of three managing partners.
Scheiff has assisted Constellation’s investment team since 2010 as one of its 20 operating partners, which adopt a hands-on approach to the firm’s investments in the education, lifestyle, business services, healthcare and financial services sectors. He joined Constellation’s board in May 2012, after being appointed as chairman of Constellation education portfolio company ibis acam.
The firm's other managing partners are Rainer Fröhlich, a former executive at media conglomerate Bertelsmann, and Ralf Flore, ex-CEO of German firm Heliad Equity Partners.
Scheiff was previously CEO of Adecco, the world’s largest HR services provider with sales of around €20 billion. He was also chief executive of Germany-listed recruitment business DIS AG between 2001 and 2006. Other senior roles he assumed include CEO of the German healthcare business of Johnson & Johnson Cordis as well as vice president of its European arm.
His appointment comes as the firm raises and deploys its €100 million Fund IV, which targets “asset light” services companies of between €20 million and €100 million in revenues. The previous vehicle has invested in three companies since its closing in December 2011, including heating installation business R. Häsler, ibis acam and reprography provider Copytrend Holding.
The latest deal sponsored by Constellation was a bolt-on by Copytrend, which acquired a majority stake in Swiss-based Intelligent Printing Solution Group earlier this week.
