International Finance Corporation (IFC) has approved a $15.5 million commitment to Alta Semper Ilera Fund I. The buyout fund will invest growth capital in mid-market businesses in Africa, with a focus on consumer goods and healthcare sectors.

As illustrated below, IFC has a 19.0 percent target allocation to private equity. It has made ten private equity commitments to funds with a 2019 vintage, totalling $200 million.
