IMRF confirms $255m in commitments

Illinois Municipal Retirement Fund approved $255 million-worth of commitments to five private equity funds at its May 2021 board meeting, a contact at the pension informed Private Equity International.

The commitments comprised $40 million to ABRY Senior Equity VI, $50 million to Insight Partners XII, $50 million to KKR North America Fund XIII, $40 million to Sterling Group Credit Fund II and $75 million to Vistria Fund IV.

IMRF has a 5.69 percent allocation to private equity as of 31 March 2021.

As illustrated below, the $53.1 billion US pension’s recent private equity commitments have tended to target North American funds focused on buyout, growth or venture investments.
