Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance and Prevention Fund seeks VC managers in Korea

The South Korean pension issues an RFP for VC fund managers.

Industrial Accident Compensation Insurance and Prevention Fund has issued a request for proposals for domestic venture capital fund managers.

The pension plans to commit a total of 60 billion Korean won ($53 million; €43.5 million) to, at most, four private equity managers. Eligible managers should manage a fund of at least 120 billion Korean won, with at least 300 billion won in AUM and have at least five years’ experience in the VC industry.

The submission date is 4 June and a decision will be put to the investment committee on 2 July.

The 22.15 trillion Korean won ($19.6 billion; €16 billion) Korean pension currently has a 9.47 percent allocation to alternative investments.
