Korea’s Yellow Umbrella seeks local PE/VC managers

The South Korean pension issues a RFP for domestic PE/VC managers.

Yellow Umbrella has issued a request for proposal for domestic private equity and venture capital fund managers.

The pension plans to commit a total of 200 billion Korean won ($168.1 million; €141.4 million) to at most six private equity managers and a total of 120 billion Korean won ($100.9 million; €84.8 million) to at most 10 venture capital managers. Eligible managers should possess at least five years of experience in the private equity/venture capital industry.

The submission deadline is 13 August 2020 with a decision put forth to the investment committee planned between September and October.

The 11.86 trillion Korean won ($9.97 billion; €8.38 billion) Korean pension has a 17.8 percent target allocation to alternative investment that currently stands at 13.6 percent.
