LSERS approves $50m commitment to a real assets focused private equity fund

The US public pension has backed a private equity fund with a primary focus on upstream infrastructure investments.

LSERS has agreed to commit $50 million to Aether Real Assets V, according to a source within the retirement system. Aether Investment Partners is a Colorado-based private equity firm that invests exclusively in real assets including oil and natural gas, metals and minerals, agriculture, and timber.

The $1.87 billion public pension currently allocates 3.5% of its funds to private equity.
