MainePERS approves $30m commitment

The US public pension has backed Shoreview's fourth buyout fund.

Maine Public Employees Retirement System (MainePERS) has agreed to commit $30 million to Shoreview Capital Partners IV, a contact at the pension informed Private Equity International. Shoreview’s fourth series buyout fund launched in April, with MainePERS also having committed to the fund’s predecessor.

The $14.70 billion US public pension has a 15.0 percent target allocation to private equity that currently stands at 14.50 percent.

As illustrated in the charts below, this is MainePERS’ second commitment to a private equity fund with a 2019 vintage. The other commitment was $60 million to Summit Partners Growth Equity Fund X.
