Massachusetts Pension Reserves Investment Management Board has confirmed a $273 million commitment to GTCR XIII, according to materials from the pension’s November 2020 investment committee meeting.

In January 2020, the MassPRIM outlined a desire to commit up to $2.3 billion to private equity by year-end. As of mid-October, the pension had committed more than $1.76 billion to the asset class.

The $79.6 billion US public pension has a 12.5 percent current and target allocation to private equity.

MassPRIM’s recent private equity fund commitments have targeted a mixture of buyout and venture capital vehicles, generally with global investment outlooks.
