New York State Common Retirement Fund approves $751.67m in commitments

The US public pension has backed six private equity funds.

New York State Common Retirement Fund has agreed six private equity commitments totalling $751.67 million, according to the pension’s April monthly report.

The commitments comprise of $5 million to Viola FinTech I, €320 million ($360 million) to The Seventh Cinven Fund, $100 million to Providence Strategic Growth IV, $200 million to CVC Growth Partners II, $66.67 million to CVC Growth Partners II Co-Investment and $20 million to HKW Capital Partners V.

The $210.20 billion US public pension has a 10.0 percent target allocation to private equity which currently stands at 9.10 percent.

New York State Common Retirement Fund has made seven commitments to private equity funds with a 2019 vintage, which combined constitute $801.67 million.
