NYSCRF approves over $1bn in commitments

The US public pension has backed North America- and Western Europe-focused funds.

In June 2018, the New York State Common Retirement Fund committed €250 million to Bridgepoint Europe VI, $250 million to Providence Equity Partners VIII, $50 million to Providence Strategic Growth III, $150 million to GenNx360 Capital Partners III, $200 million to Towerbrook Investors V, €200 million to CVC Strategic Opportunities Fund II, $20 million to Aldrich Capital Partners Fund and and additional $30 million to Sycamore Partners III, which brings NYSTRS’ overall commitment to the fund to $51 million.

The $207 billion US public pension has a 10 percent target allocation to private equity that currently stands at 8.3 percent.
