NYSCRF approves more than $1.4bn in commitments

The New York State CRF has allocated more than $1.4bn across six private equity vehicles.

New York State Common Retirement Fund has approved over $1.4 billion-worth of commitments to private equity, according to the pension’s latest transaction report.

The commitments include $500 million to the Strategic Value Excelsior Fund; $250 million to GSO Capital Opportunities Fund IV and $125 million to its co-investment vehicle; $250 million to FP Credit Partners II; $210 million to New York Balanced Pool Asia Investors IV; $95 million to Providence Strategic Growth V (PSG V) and $15 million to NFX Capital Fund III.

The commitment to the Excelsior fund is a closed-end fund of one commitment made by the New York CRF. The fund is focused on investments in distressed and special situations across North America and Europe.

The $278.4 billion pension fund has a target allocation of 10 percent towards private equity, which currently stands at 10.6 percent. Illustrated below is the full investment portfolio and recent fund commitments.
