NYSTRS approves over $1bn in commitments

The US public pension has backed North America-, Europe- and Asia-focused funds.

Between 1 April 2018 and 30 June 2018, the New York State Teachers’ Retirement System committed $300 million to Hellman & Friedman Capital Partners IX, $200 million to Thoma Bravo Fund XIII, $150 million to HIPEP Select Asia Fund III, $100 million each to Cressey & Co Fund VI and Primavera Capital Fund III, $75 million to Tailwater Energy Fund III, $50 million to Cressey & Co Overage Fund VI and £50 million to ECI 11.

The $115.5 billion US public pension has an 8 percent target allocation to private equity that currently stands at 7.4 percent.
