Operational Excellence Award winners 2016: EMEA

EQT and Palamon Capital are among those picking up awards in this year’s list of the private equity companies doing the most to build better companies.

Private Equity International is delighted to announce the Europe, Middle East and Africa winners of the Operational Excellence Awards 2016, recognising those firms that are having the most transformative effect on portfolio companies during their period of ownership.

Here are the EMEA winners in full:

Small cap: Mediterrania Capital Partners – CEPRO
Investment in new production capacity paid off when Mediterrania Capital Partners acquired a stake in Algerian nappy manufacturer CEPRO.

Lower mid-market: Palamon Capital Partners – Towry
Palamon’s acquisition of Towry is a 'remarkable case of the power of operational excellence and active private equity ownership', one of the judges said.

Upper mid-market: EQT Partners – Atos Medical
It was the growth figures for Atos Medical under the ownership of EQT Partners that impressed the judges in the EMEA upper mid-market category.

Large cap: KKR – Alliance Tire Group
Dutch firm Alliance Tire Group made big strides under KKR’s ownership.
