Pennsylvania School Employees’ Retirement System approves $450m in commitments

The US public pension has backed two private equity funds.

Pennsylvania Public School Employees’ Retirement System has agreed to commit up to $300 million to Platinum Equity Capital Partners V and up to $150 million to SSG Capital Partners V, according to the pension’s latest board meeting minutes.

The $55.78 billion US public pension has a 16.0 percent target allocation to private equity which currently stands at 15.40 percent.

As illustrated in the charts below, the pension has made five commitments to private equity funds with a 2019 vintage, which combined constitute $675 million.
