SCRS approves $275m in commitments

The US public pension has committed to three private equity vehicles.

South Carolina Retirement System has made $275 million in commitments across six private equity funds, according to minutes from the pension’s December commission meeting.

The commitments comprised $100 million to both KKR Asset-Based Finance Partners and Blackstone Strategic Partners IX. A further $75 million commitment was made to Great Hill Equity Partners VIII.

The $39.2 billion pension has a 9.6 percent allocation to private equity. SCRS’s private equity fund commitments tend to focus on global vehicles with diversified strategies and sector focus.
