SCRS approves $295m in commitments

The US public pension has committed to five private equity vehicles.

South Carolina Retirement System has made $295 million in commitments across four private equity funds, according to minutes from the pension’s April commission meeting.

Between March and April 2021, SCRS committed $75 million to Ares Pathfinder Fund, $40 million to ASI Hark Capital III and up to $50 million to General Atlantic Investment Partners 2021. The pension fund committed a further $30 million to Resolve Growth Partners and up to $100 million to Stonyrock Alt Fund I.

The $35.61 billion pension has a 9 percent current allocation to private equity.

SCRS’s private equity fund commitments tend to focus on global vehicles with debt, venture and growth capital strategies.
