SEMA approves KRW130bn in commitments

The South Korea-based public pension has backed ten domestic private equity and venture capital funds.

SEMA has committed KRW130 billion ($110.8 million; €99.8 million) to ten venture capital and private equity funds.

Each venture capital fund has received commitments ranging in value from KRW1 billion to KRW5 billion (less than $4.26 million), and each private equity fund has received commitments ranging in value from KRW20 billion to KRW30 billion ($17 million to 25.6 million).

SEMA has committed to venture capital funds by firms such as SV Investment, LB Investment and KB Investment. SEMA has committed to private equity funds managed by SG Private Equity.

As illustrated below, SEMA has a 25 percent target allocation to private equity that currently stands at 21.7 percent.
